What people say about us

Your website is very good, so I’m able to keep up with (your) reports and presentations. That news feed is also worthwhile.

I’d attended your seminar in Carton House previously…very interesting and informative.

Activation Energy found BVP a huge asset in helping us to refine our product offering and to engage with the market to allow a swift role out of our service. We feel that without BVP’s assistance we would not have achieved the success we are currently enjoying

BVP is a progressive and forward thinking investment fund with an invaluable wealth of knowledge and experience in the cleantech space. From the outset our company, Nines Photovoltaics, has enjoyed an open and frank relationship with the BVP team that has continued post investment. We consider BVP’s involvement in our company to be a valuable asset and would recommend any cleantech start up to engage with them at an early stage

About Us

Business Venture Partners was founded in 2004 and the team of Elliott Griffin, Ronan Smith and Neena Aeri works on behalf of its clients buying and selling companies, raising finances, working with start-ups and advising on strategic growth, business succession and owner exits. The team skills are a mix of Chartered Accountants (top 4 practices) and Engineers. Since 2007, BVP is the investment manager for the Green BES and EII Funds which we established.

In 2016 BVP launched The 10th BVP Green EII Fund.  Our new fund provides eligible investors with the opportunity to avail of up to 40% income tax relief and provides the investor access to a portfolio of cleantech companies and renewable energy projects.

We have invested, on behalf of our investors, in some of Ireland’s most innovative, high potential companies such as Celtic Bioenergy, EFT Controls, Optinergy, Hybrid Energy Solutions and Ikon Semiconductor.   Our philosophy is to work hard with each investment to deliver valuable support for the company promoters and build shareholder value for our investors.

The board of BVP are Elliott Griffin, David Gavagan (non-executive) and Thomas Byrne (non-executive).  To contact any of us please email Elliott at

Our Investments

We are very pleased to report on a strong pipeline of over 55 projects being presented to us during the last 12 months in 2015.  These projects have been sourced from a combination of public enquiries, our network of accountants who refer us projects, the public grant bodies and client referrals.

Our recent investments include wind development, energy efficiency, bioenergy technology, off grid power generation and an Energy Supply Company (ESCO). We plan to make further investment in our existing portfolio and also in other exciting opportunities in waste to energy, wind energy technology and smart grid technologies.

A key differentiator in our fund is that each investment is made on an ordinary share full participation basis so that our investors get maximum upside.

Potential investors should note that other investments in the marketplace offer capped returned.  Capped returns are not guaranteed returns and as with all EII investments it is not permitted by law to provide minimum returns or guarantees.
