BHSL appoints former Kerry Group chief as chairman


Irish agritech business BHSL has appointed former Kerry Group chief executive Denis Brosnan as chairman of the company as it launches a process to raise at least €7million in new equity to support its global expansion.

The Co Limerick-based company says its technology is transforming poultry production by turning a cost centre (dealing with waste manure) into a source of fuel, thereby driving farm profitability through reduced energy bills. Read more

Fifty new jobs have been announced as Optinergy, the Irish-owned service provider in windfarm operation and maintenance.

It follows Optinergy’s acquisition of the Wind O&M (Operation and Maintenance) division of LotusWorks, Lotus Energy Systems.

The newly expanded operation will create an additional 50 jobs over the next 5 years for engineers and advanced trades people in rural Ireland. Read more

UrbanVolt announces €5m investment in energy efficiency projects in Cork

THE energy and lighting specialist firm UrbanVolt is to invest €5m in energy efficiency projects in businesses in the Cork region.

Some €2m of the fund will go to upgrading lighting facilities in the Blackpool Shopping Centre together with Pipelife in Whites Cross, Daly Industrial Supply Company on the Lower Glanmire Road and Graepels in Kinsale. Read more
